Mr Grass Heads Backyard STEAM activity

These Mr  Grass Heads ALWAYS make me smile. A fond memory from my own childhood, I introduced these to my kids many years ago and we have made them often since. A super fun craft, but also science/ biology lesson.. as well as great opportunity to teach kids to take care of something


This is a great  STEAM Spring and Summer  Activity   to do in your backgack but they are also fabulously thrifty and inexpensive to make. The kids will ove to make these Mr Grassheads and watch them grow!

Old tights/ stockings
Some compost or earth
Grass seeds
Rubber band or thread
for decorating – googly eyes, felt

A pot for your grass head to sit in!
